Explanation of Erhu
TAKUROMAN has long been fascinated by the beautiful sound of the erhu. Below is a brief explanation of the erhu.
- What is Erhu?
The erhu is a traditional Chinese stringed instrument, representative of China, whose unique sound and beautiful melodies are loved by many. This instrument, played with two strings and a bow, originated in ancient China and has played an important role in music history. - Characteristics and Structure of Erhu
The erhu is made from high-quality wood such as rosewood and red sandalwood, with snakeskin stretched over its body. These materials produce the erhu's characteristic soft tone. The dedicated bow is made of horsehair, and the interaction between the strings and the bow creates a rich sound. - Playing Techniques and Musical Expression
Erhu playing techniques are delicate, and the tone changes significantly depending on the position of the fingers on the strings and the movement of the bow. Skilled players draw emotional sounds from the instrument, moving the hearts of people. - Modern Appeal and Future of Erhu
Centered in large cities like Beijing, many performers are working to fuse traditional music with contemporary music. With the widespread availability of dedicated cases and accessories, the appeal of the erhu continues to expand.
