Hello everyone, this is TAKUROMAN. It’s been exactly one year since I started playing the erhu — and recently, I successfully completed my second street live performance in Sasazuka, Tokyo. First of all, thank you so much to everyone who came and watched.
📍 Live Overview
Item: Details
Date and Time: Saturday, September 20, 2025, 14:00–15:00
Venue: Keio Crown Street Sasazuka Keyaki Plaza (in front of Keio Sasazuka Station) *Authorized street live by artspot.live
Program: Japanese folk songs, J-POP, Studio Ghibli music, etc. I also challenged myself with multi-layered solo and ensemble performances.
Audience Reaction: Even though my playing is still unpolished, several people stopped to listen, which was very encouraging. I felt the warmth of people supporting a beginner’s effort. Some even said the sound was beautiful, which gave me courage.
Weather Impact: The weather held up well enough, avoiding severe conditions. There were brief periods of light rain, but the live performance and streaming proceeded as planned.
One year ago, about 100 days after starting the erhu, my hands trembled, my pitch was unstable, and simply performing in front of people was a huge challenge. This time, I could gradually pay attention to pitch, tempo, and rhythm, and I feel my expressive range has expanded in my own way.
🎥 Video Information
To give you a sense of the live atmosphere and my performance, the full recorded video is now available.
The full video including the live performance scenes is uploaded on YouTube. Watching it will convey the tension I felt on stage and my interactions with the audience.
I also shared highlights and scenes from the live on X (formerly Twitter). Though short clips, they capture some of the “in-the-moment atmosphere.”

💬 Looking Ahead
This live gave me another step forward in reflecting on my expressive range and the meaning of performing in front of people.
From now on, I plan to: - Practice more while focusing on pitch, expressiveness, and ensemble connection,
- Increase opportunities to deliver performances to those who can’t attend live through videos and streaming,
- Take on new challenges such as request performances and collaboration projects.
Once again, I sincerely thank everyone who supports me. If you have any impressions after watching the video or requests for “performances you’d like to hear or see,” please let me know.
I look forward to seeing you at the next live or presentation.
