On Friday, December 23, DIGITOMA 2022 opened.
TAKUROMAN visited the gallery space of the main venue, "Fujima Family Residence," in Nara and the satellite venue, "Nanigotoya," in Osaka, and will report on the situation.

After getting off at Kintetsu Nara Station, I took a bus to the venue and arrived.
The Fujima Family Residence is a historic building that was originally inhabited by a Shinto priest. Perhaps because of its history, it exudes elegance and beauty.

Exhibition scenery, the main image scroll.
A novel setup where you view video works from atop a stepladder. The scattered flowers are also lovely.
Some visitors came after seeing flyers placed at a nearby photography museum.
Works by 61 participating artists can be viewed from the VR gallery projected at the venue. (You can watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/tbEyjMGhs3s)

I had my picture taken in front of my work.
This time, TAKUROMAN's work "Narrative Friends Talking" was inspired by the concept of "under renovation" at the Fujima Family Residence, and was created with the theme of "narrative = a story where the narrator is the protagonist and changes." (Click here for the work page)

Leaving the Fujima Family Residence, I headed to the satellite venue, "Nanigotoya," in Osaka.
The venue looks like this.
Works by participating artists are also exhibited here.

This is a work by Eiki Okuda. He presents a work called "CITY JUMPER" using Famicom, believing that there are things that can only be expressed with the limited data of pixel art. It's a collaboration with ADIDAS, so it also includes their logo.
A boy challenging the game. His reaction is interesting, haha. Games make people smile.

This is a work by film director Kohei Takayama. (Image from the main venue)
His works, aiming to be a film director, are highly artistic and captivating. They were exhibited at the main venue and screened at the satellite venue.

There was also a contemporary dance performance by ache._, Junya Wataboo Ishii, Genki, mico, keija and nas. The unique dance combined with the video work was wonderful.
There were also live performances by Jiku Kaiten Kiko-san, GORO Hitomi Hirakippers-san, and others, which seemed to be very lively, but TAKUROMAN could not see them due to the last train schedule.

Seeing the works of various artists, I realized the diversity of expression, and it was an inspiring night.
This time, as one of the artists, I had a valuable experience participating in a wonderful event. Thank you to all the visitors, the organizer General Incorporated Association Takahata Trust, and all related parties.
