TAKUROMAN has released his first NFT collection, 'The Millennium Play' (Japanese name: 千年の戯れ), on OpenSea. This collection was conceived as a 'play' that connects people across time and space, using blockchain technology to reach future generations. It was also exhibited at Crypto Art Fes 2022 (#CAF2022) as a selected artist.

■ Concept of 'The Millennium Play'
This collection is a 'play' that connects people across time and space, using blockchain technology to reach future generations. I believe that 'play' is sometimes a more important theme than work. I also realize that I myself, caught up in daily work, neglect 'playtime,' which is truly precious. If 'play NFTs,' which at first glance seem to have no utility, can motivate people 1000 years from now, then humanity might 'find more value in play.' With this belief, I created this collection.

■ About the Four Works
As a collection themed around play, each of the four paintings incorporates memories of play that I purely enjoyed as a child. The starting price for each was 0.1 ETH. For detailed descriptions of the works, please see the descriptions at the link for each piece.

■ Affinity with Crypto Art Fes 2022 Theme
Crypto Art Fes 2022 (#CAF2022) is Japan's largest crypto art festival, held from July 11 (Mon) to 17 (Sun), 2022. TAKUROMAN was selected as one of 100 artists for this event and announced this first collection in the metaverse venue. The overall theme of the event was 'exploring future steps for crypto and crypto art.' In response, TAKUROMAN considered 'what is artistic expression unique to blockchain technology and philosophy?' and conceived this collection. I believe the true essence of blockchain lies in its decentralized network, independent of a central authority. The reason for setting the collection's NFTs as four paintings is that if holders are dispersed among multiple people, and even if only one of them actively shares and enjoys it, it can influence other holders, creating mutual interaction and the potential for continuation.

Initially, I considered a mechanism using programming technology to change the NFT paintings and display messages 1000 years later, prompting some action from the holders. However, creating a program guaranteed to operate until 3022 is realistically difficult. On the other hand, this collection is based on the idea that 'it can only continue because it's play.' Therefore, believing in the potential of blockchain to exist even 1000 years later in theory, I thought it was more important to 'connect the message embedded in the four NFTs to the future' through human hands. Thus, I adopted a simple, analog mechanism that would not be swayed by system influences over 1000 years.
