Thank you for your continued support.
March is graduation season. I, TAKUROMAN, have made a certain resolution, and I would like to write it down here.
From now on, TAKUROMAN intends to expand his activities beyond the realm of a digital artist and operate under the title of "Expressionist."
This is because four years have passed since I started my artistic activities in 2021, and various things have happened during that time.
Holding solo exhibitions and participating in group exhibitions, activities in the NFT art world, live painting on stages and at events, merchandise based on my works, opening online art courses, publishing serialized articles on marketing, performing street live as an erhu player, business activities, and so on.
Initially, my activities were centered around creating digital art, so the title of digital pop artist felt appropriate. However, as my activities gradually expanded, I realized that I was no longer able to express myself well.
When I considered what expression would be appropriate, I decided to return to my origins.
My origin is, in other words, why I wanted to be a manga artist when I was a child, when I dreamed of becoming one.
At 35, I aspired to be a manga artist and entered a manga school, but I realized that I couldn't draw for more than two hours, and that aspirations and professions don't always match.
However, what I learned through my subsequent artistic activities was that I had a desire to "express and convey something."
Here, a simple question arises: Did such a desire exist when I was a child?
I can answer that.
I believe it certainly did.
Even as a child, I knew the beauty of the world.
That's not to say I traveled the world or had special experiences to realize something.
I felt it through time with my family, siblings, and childhood friends.
One more important thing I want to mention is my activities outside of being an artist. I spend a lot of my daily time on business.
However, I had almost completely separated my business activities from my artistic activities, as if they were two different people, so I rarely spoke about one from the perspective of the other. To exaggerate, it felt like there was another me in a different dimension, like a multiverse.
Nevertheless, I am still myself, and each experience can inform the other activity. Also, when someone talks about something, I think it's easier to understand if you know what they have done in the past.
Therefore, I will continue to expand my activities more broadly as one person, including all my activities: art, erhu, seminars, and business.
I look forward to your continued support for "TAKUROMAN, the Expressionist."
